The agent of Inter Milan starlet Martin Satriano has played down reported interest from Arsenal and Manchester City, telling FCInterNews such speculation is “normal”.

He has a point.

The most exciting youngsters in European football will always have their fair share of admirers – and Satriano is no different.

The Uruguayan has scored ten times in 20 games for Inter Milan’s youth sides this season.

And, with the soon-to-be-Scudetto winners in a dire financial situation, a fortnight ago the Daily Mail reported Inter are bracing themselves for bids.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea are watching closely, as are Paris Saint-Germain and the gold-panning RB Leipzig.

But, according to Satriano’s agent, Nick Maytum, Inter supporters can sleep a tad easier tonight. Smoke usually precedes fire but, while the rumours may be true, that doesn’t mean the Montevideo-born wonderkid is destined to depart this summer.

“I answer you in this way – it is normal for the most famous clubs in Europe to follow the greatest talents who are showing off in various championships,” Maytum says when asked about the interest.

“It happens everywhere, even at Inter, where it is no coincidence that every year they build a winning team.

“But these words of mine must not be misrepresented, nor should we speculate on (them). Martin is very well at the Nerazzurri.”

During another disappointing campaign at the Emirates, the emergence of a crop of highly talented youngsters has, occasionally at least, turned those Arsenal frowns upside down.

Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and even Calum Chambers have gone from strength to strength under Mikel Arteta. Gabriel Martinelli, meanwhile, has made a big impression since his return from injury.

Satriano, then, may be tempted by a move to the Emirates. For now, however, the youngster remains fully focused on forcing his way into Antonio Conte’s plans at Inter Milan.
