Thierry Henry has claimed that Richarlison has been ‘unlucky’ since he has been at Tottenham Hotspur after he scored a brace on his Champions League debut against Marseille.

Tottenham secured a 2-0 win over the Ligue 1 giants and, after the game, Richarlison was on the sidelines, visibly emotional whilst with his family, as Henry stated that it was ‘nice to see’, as he told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (07/09/22 at 10:35 pm).

Antonio Conte handed the 25-year-old another start, after doing so over the weekend when Spurs beat newly-promoted Fulham 2-1 in the Premier League.

Richarlison is Tottenham’s club-record transfer and he arrived as a back-up to the already-working and thriving formidable front three of Son Heung-min, Harry Kane and Dejan Kulusevski.

Well, he’s probably already broken that front three up because the battle between yesterday’s goalscorer and Kulusevski is now spicing up.

Nonetheless, after the conclusion of yesterday’s game, Richarlison was stood by family on the sidelines and was pretty emotional at what just happened, with Henry sharing his reaction.

“It’s nice to see,” said Henry. “Since he has been there, he has been unlucky. A goal disallowed and missing goals.

“Now, he is a little emotional. That has happened since you (Carragher) and him had that moment with him, no?!”

WILL RICHARLISON START AGAINST MAN CITY?

The games are coming thick and fast for Spurs now, with the Premier League champions, Manchester City, awaiting them at the weekend.

Spurs beat them, home and away last season, including Kulusevski scoring at the Etihad during a quite stunning stoppage-time 3-2 win.

So, will the Sweden international, who hasn’t put much of a foot wrong, start against Pep Guardiola’s side?

He will be banging on Conte’s door, and for the right reasons, but so will Richarlison. All in all, this benefits Tottenham because what a headache to have days before such a big game.
