
Leicester City supporters weren’t a happy bunch on Twitter after they failed to sign Arsenal defender Ainsley Maitland-Niles on deadline day.
Sky Sports reported that Arsenal weren’t willing to allow the versatile player to leave for the King Power Stadium because they deem them as rivals.
Instead, the England international headed off to relegation-threatened West Brom, where he is hoping to help Sam Allardyce maintain his record of never being relegated from the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Leicester fans are laughing off the fact that Arsenal see them as rivals this season given where both clubs are in the table.
Tenth-placed Arsenal are sitting on 31 points after 21 matches – eight points behind fourth-placed Leicester.
With the games coming thick and fast, it can, of course, change pretty quickly.

But given how things are going this season, Arsenal will most likely finish below Brendan Rodgers men, who are pushing for the title.
But those in the Midlands will have to do that without Maitland-Niles’ services, who will now hope that his minutes on the pitch earns him an England spot to the Euros in the summer.
