Celtic supporters have flogged Sky Sports tweet where Brendan Rodgers has urged the club to show ‘humility and class’ by giving Steven Gerrard’s side the guard on honour on Sunday.

Even though the Leicester City manager provided trophy after trophy for Celtic, their fans have been quick to remind him about how he left the club in regards to him talking about ‘class’.

It’s the little matter of the Old Firm at the weekend, with Celtic hoping to spoil their neighbour’s party, whilst a win will lift the mood, it won’t be enough to wipe out what has been a pretty disastrous season for the Bhoys.

It’s been a long time since Celtic have gone into a domestic game where they aren’t champions, but that dreaded day is now here.

Amid all that, a lot of talk has been about whether Celtic will provide the newly-crowned champions with a guard of honour, with Rodgers weighing in on the debate.

It’s quite clear that Rodgers wants his former club to do the same and it’s fair to say that many Celtic supporters disagree with him.

Before a ball is kicked on Sunday, all eyes will be on the Celtic players and coaching staff to see whether they do give their rivals a guard of honour.

And it will be interesting to see who makes the call as to whether that should or shouldn’t happen given that there isn’t a permanent manager in charge.

Either way, here is a selection of Celtic fans reacting to Rodgers comments:
