Fabrizio Romano has said that Heung-Min Son is definitely staying at Tottenham Hotspur this summer and contract talks are still progressing well.
Speaking on Chris Cowlin’s Youtube channel, Romano said that Tottenham are completely against selling Son this summer.
Spurs are already facing difficulties keeping Harry Kane, and the club realise that they simply cannot afford to lose their two star attackers in one transfer window.
As a result, Tottenham have apparently made sure that Son is off limits.
And as soon as Spurs have a new manager in place, Tottenham will get to work on tying the South Korean down to a new contract.
“He’s so happy with Tottenham. They are not planning to let him leave, because they have this situation with Harry Kane,” Romano said.
“Imagine losing Kane and Son in the same summer – it’s impossible.
“Son is open to staying and they are negotiating a new contract. They are progressing with this position. Obviously Tottenham are busy with the situation of the manager, but immediately after they will work with Son.
“They want to extend the contract, they want to give him a new salary. Son is staying at Tottenham.”

Son was actually expected to have signed a new Spurs contract by now, with the Athletic saying talks had started last year.
Romano’s update will come as a relief though, as recent reports had claimed he is upset by Kane’s potential departure.
If Kane does leave Spurs, the pressure will rise on Son’s shoulders.
Son has actually stepped up when Kane hasn’t been on the pitch in the past, and often thrives when he has made Spurs’s main attacker.
But this season Kane and Son have linked up to devastating affect.
And if Kane does depart, it remains to be seen what sort of impact that would have on Son’s game over the coming years.
