Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has suggested to The Daily Star that it is hard for him to see Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool win the Premier League title this season.

Mount believes that his Chelsea side have competed well with Liverpool in the matches they have played this campaign.

The 21-year-old has added that watching the Reds win the league title this season has given him motivation.

The England international has further stated that Liverpool have deservedly won the Premier League title this season.

Mount told The Daily Star: “For a team to be as dominant as they have been this season definitely gives you motivation for next season to match them.

“We played them three times this season and have definitely been getting closer and been competitive with them. When you watch that it gives you extra motivation.

“I will definitely spur us on. I’m a winner, so I don’t like watching other people win. It’s hard to watch someone else win. They are worthy winners. When you watch something like that it will give us extra motivation to win.”

Could Chelsea challenge Liverpool next season?

Liverpool have been head and shoulders above the rest of the teams in the Premier League this season, and there is no doubt that the Reds have deservedly won the title this campaign.

One suspects that Klopp’s side will start next season as favourites as well, but Manchester City will be determined to run them close.

Perhaps Chelsea could challenge the Reds as well during the 2020-21 campaign.

With Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech already signed up, Frank Lampard’s current side will be better and stronger next season.
