Kylian Mbappe has spoken out about his future with PSG following a summer where the French attacker almost joined Real Madrid.

Speaking to RMC Sport via GFFN, the 22-year-old striker revealed that he wanted to leave Paris. Mbappe has been a reported target for Liverpool over the years, but Madrid remain the favourites to sign the forward.

The youngster’s deal with PSG expires next summer. And the future of Mbappe appears to be up in the air, with Madrid seeing two mammoth bids rejected for the French international.

With free agency looking more and more likely, Mbappe could well be at the centre of attention from multiple clubs as huge teams around Europe begin to recoup finances lost from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Indeed, Liverpool could be an option for Mbappe in the future with the attacker often speaking about his admiration for the Anfield club. Mohamed Salah’s contract situation could also make a move for the Frenchman likely.

Mbappe said: “I asked to leave, because from the moment where I did not want to extend, I wanted for the club to receive a transfer fee so that they could bring in a quality replacement.”
