Close your eyes Aston Villa fans and imagine this. Jack Grealish picks up possession out wide and drifts through a throng of lunging tackles before playing an inch-perfect through ball into Ollie Watkins’ path.

Watkins breezes past a flailing full-back before crossing for an onrushing Tammy Abraham to slam gratefully into the net.

According to The Athletic, Abraham has little interest in signing a new contract at Chelsea. We can imagine why.

The England international has only started two Premier League games since Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard at the helm – and he’s been dragged off at half-time in both.

Furthermore, with Chelsea fluttering their eyelashes at the irrepressible Erling Haaland, who could blame Abraham for growing concerned about what the future may hold for him at Stamford Bridge?

For the 23-year-old frontman, warming the bench while Haaland scores goal after goal in Chelsea blue doesn’t fit into his lofty ambitions.

But if Abraham’s future lies away from west London, he won’t have far to look to find a group of fans willing to put a gallon of petrol in the tank and chauffeur him back to the club where he made his name.

Abraham’s stock remains sky high at Villa Park, almost two years after firing the Midland giants to promotion with 26 goals in 40 games during a remarkable loan spell in claret and blue.
