Some Arsenal fans on Twitter believe they’re about to sign Gabriel Magalhaes – and to be fair, a transfer somewhere looks to be definitely on the cards.
That’s because Lille left him out of a pre-season friendly this afternoon and, even better, the number four shirt that Gabriel wore last season was allocated to somebody else.
It certainly seems like he’s leaving the Ligue 1 outfit, but is it to Arsenal? Well, very possibly.
UOL claimed this week that the Gunners had made contact over an £18 million move, while ESPN reported that the 22-year-old Brazilian himself wanted a switch to North London.

What a brilliant move this would be.
William Saliba already represents the feeling of a new signing, even though he technically joined last summer, and it would be very exciting to see him and Gabriel line up in the middle of defence next term.
The Frenchman is only 19, three years younger than Gabriel, but if the latter joins, and clicks with Saliba defensively, what a partnership that could be for many years.
