Olivier Bernard has just sent a message on Twitter suggesting that the proposed Newcastle United takeover is happening.
The former Newcastle defender, who was on the books of the Magpies from 2000 until 2005 and then in 2006-07, hopes that the club will show ambition again in the future.
According to a report in The Independent today, Newcastle are preparing to start next season under the ownership of Mike Ashley.
However, according to the report, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) are confident that the proposed takeover will go through.
Bernard has suggested on Twitter that the proposed Newcastle takeover is going through, although it is not clear if he is privy to information that is not yet public.
Staying patient
The proposed Newcastle takeover has been dragging on for weeks now, and the St. James’ Park faithful have been quite patient.
There is nothing much that the Newcastle fans can do expect stay calm and patient, and hopefully a decision will be made soon.

Meanwhile, Newcastle are doing well on the pitch, as they have avoided relegation to the Championship and are set to end up in mid-table in the Premier League.
Steve Bruce’s side are 13th in the Premier League table at the moment with 44 points from 37 matches.
The Magpies will take on Liverpool at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Sunday.
