West Ham United target Sasa Kalajdzic has played down reports linking him with a summer move, telling the Stuttgarter Zeitung that he could ‘very well imagine’ staying at Stuttgart.

A 25-year-old Bundesliga record tumbled over the weekend.

Finding the net in Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Hoffenheim, Kalajdzic became the first Stuttgart player since the legendary Fredi Bobic in the mid-1990s to score in seven successive Bundesliga matches.

Everything the 6ft 7ins giant touches turns to gold right now.

In total, Kalajdzic has found the net 13 times in 14 starts during his first Bundesliga campaign, striking up a wonderful partnership with Stuttgart assist-machine Borna Sosa – a left-back in the Aaron Cresswell mould.

According to the Mail, the rangy Austria international has played his way onto the radar of Roma, RB Leipzig and West Ham.

But Kalajdzic is in no hurry to depart, suggesting that he could commit his immediate future to an exciting, youthful Stuttgart side who have taken Germany by storm since their promotion last year.

“I could very well imagine (staying at the Mercedes Benz Arena). In the end, it’s not just my decision,” Kalajdzic explained.

“What counts at the moment is that it’s really fun to play here. (My agent should) only inform me of interest from other clubs if it seems important.

“At the moment, it looks like he wouldn’t have to inform me about anything.”

Stuttgart are expected to demand around £22 million for Kalajdzic.

Speaking to Echo24 last week, director Sven Mislintat admitted that VFB are keen to keep a talented crop of players together, yet would have no choice but to listen to offers if a big-money bid arrives.

Alongside Kalajdzic, Silas Wamangituka and Nicolas Gonzalez are also attracting interest from the Premier League.
