Ian Wright has told the Kelly and Wrighty Show, which was broadcast on Optus Sports, that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is finally getting to see his ‘dream’ midfield pairing together at Anfield now.

Fabinho and Thiago have barely been able to play alongside each other at Anfield since the Spaniard arrived in the summer.

Liverpool’s injury crisis has meant that Fabinho has spent much of the season at centre-back.

However, the Brazilian has been played in his more familiar defensive midfield role recently, which seems to have helped to improve the Reds results.

And Wright thinks that Klopp will be very excited about seeing Thiago and Fabinho getting a run of games alongside each other in the middle of the pitch.

“To see Fabinho and Thiago in the midfield is something he would have been dreaming off Jurgen Klopp and now it’s finally happening,” he said.

“Hopefully that will be enough to trigger the front guys.”

Thiago has had a difficult spell at Liverpool to date, but Fabinho’s steadying influence in midfield should help him show his undoubted quality.

The Reds have started to click into gear in recent weeks, with Fabinho further forward, and are now starting to really put pressure back on the top four.

The hope at Anfield is that Liverpool can put together a run of results between now and the end of the season, to force their way back into Champions League contention.

Liverpool are next in action in two weekends’ time, when they take on Arsenal.
