Roy Keane praised Arsenal transfer target Federico Valverde for celebrating a tackle at the 2022 FIFA World Cup for Uruguay.

Who would have thought it? One of the most fiercest and hard-hitting midfielders English football has ever seen appreciating such play from a player that can do no wrong.

During these last 18 months, Valverde has taken his game to serious heights, including winning the Champions League with Real Madrid.

Well, during Uruguay’s goalless draw against South Korea at the World Cup in Qatar, Valverde went into a crunching tackle near the sidelines and he then proceeded to punch the air in celebration.

It clearly meant a lot to him and he celebrated like he had just scored a long-range goal, as former Manchester United midfielder Keane was loving what he was seeing from the player, as he told ITV Sport.

“A good tackle can lift your teammates and lift the crowd because it was such a bad game,” said Keane. “But brilliant. It’s passion and it’s fantastic.”

ARSENAL’S INTEREST IN VALVERDE

Arsenal are sitting at the top of the Premier League table, flying high and hoping to end their long wait to become champions of England again.

If they do that, then it will allow them to sign those elite players again because of their position and Valverde is certainly one of them.

It’s going to take some serious money and persuading, but there has been talk that Arsenal have been watching the player in action for Real Madrid amid interest in the midfielder.
