Stuart Dallas has warned his Leeds United teammates on TalkSport (10/10/20 at 9:15 am) to not get ‘carried away’ with their start the season.

The 29-year-old feels ‘it’s easy’ to think after four Premier League matches that Leeds will be ‘okay’ given how they have gone about things.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have picked up two wins and one draw from their opening four matches, with Liverpool the only team to narrowly beat them 4-3 on the opening day of the campaign.

There has been a lot of positive noise around Leeds since their return to the promised land, but Dallas made it clear that regardless of what’s happening on the outside, they need to keep their feet on the ground from the inside.

“Obviously, the way we play its difficult for teams,” Dallas told TalkSport. “The man-marking style. The way we like to play. We are attack-minded.

“I think it showed when you go and get after teams then there are mistakes in them. You can find faults with them. We just worry about ourselves and take each game as it comes.

“I think it’s important that we don’t get carried away with the results that we have had. We have started well enough in the league. We have two good wins and the point against Man City and narrowly getting defeated by Liverpool.

“It’s easy till after four games to say ‘Oh Leeds will be okay’. But as players, we cannot get carried away with that. We have to keep working hard. Keep believing in what the manager wants from us. We will just take it one game at a time.”

Leeds United’s record transfers

  1. Rodrigo (2020)

    £26 million

  2. Raphinha

    £21 million (2020)

  3. Rio Ferdinand (2000)

    £18 million

  4. Diego Llorente (2020)

    £18 million

  5. Helder Costa (2020)

    £16 million

It’s not just a case of Leeds picking up some useful results so early on in the season, they have also outperformed a lot of top sides.

Their performances, especially against Liverpool and Manchester City, have stood out and the relentless nature in which they go about things is proving to be problematic for opposition teams.

The slight difference now is that there will be more expectation on Leeds, which they’ll have to try and deal with.

Plus, they will face opposition who they will also be expected to beat and it’s a case of adding to their points tally and providing themselves with a cushion for when they do hit a bad patch, which will only be inevitable.
