Adil Rami has told RMC Sport that he thinks that Kylian Mbappe is all set to leave PSG, amid suggestions that Liverpool are ready to make a move.

Mbappe has been discussing a new contract with PSG recently, but has failed to agree terms, and Le Parisien now say that Liverpool are ready to bid for the rapid forward.

Jurgen Klopp’s side would surely have to break the transfer record to bring in a player of Mbappe’s quality.

But Rami, who was part of the French World Cup winning squad in 2018 alongside Mbappe, feels that there is a real possibility that the striker does depart now.

“I think that it is done,” Rami said. “Even more so because talks are failing to advance.

“You get the sense that it annoys him, talking about that. He is not speaking with the club, nor with his entourage. And from the moment when that annoys you, it means that he doesn’t want to hear it. His future seems totally traced out and it is sad for the Parisians, even for Ligue 1.”

Liverpool fans have generally treated the links with Mbappe with caution, due to the costs involved with completing the transfer.

However, French football expert Julian Laurens recently told TalkSPORT that Mbappe would be keen on a move to Anfield, and that the transfer has a real chance of happening.

If Mbappe was to move to Liverpool, his arrival would send shockwaves across English football.

Mbappe is widely considered to be a future Balon D’Or winner, and if Liverpool landed him, they may be in a position to dominate the Premier League for the years to come.
