According to Fabrizio Romano and The Secret Scout, Arsenal have lost Omari Hutchinson to Chelsea.

What’s the story?

Well, this is a nightmare for the Gunners, and could have further implications for Hale End.

Romano claims that talks between Arsenal and Hutchinson regarding a new contract collapsed, allowing Chelsea to steal in and sign the precocious 18-year-old.

Now, this is a huge blow for Mikel Arteta.

Hutchinson was regarded as one of the best prodigies at Hale End, if not the best.

The Redhill-born forward scored eight goals in all competitions at youth level last season, while also providing seven assists.

Some have also said that the teenager is a more exciting prospect than Bukayo Saka was during his time in the Hale End Academy, which is some statement given where the 20-year-old is now.

According to some sources, Arteta was even planning to use Hutchinson in the Europa League next season.

Unfortunately, that will no longer be possible, as the England Under-19 international has decided to swap north London for west London, where Thomas Tuchel awaits him.

Arsenal must address Omari Hutchinson issue

As aforesaid, Arsenal need to do something about this situation.

Of course, nothing can be done about Hutchinson going to Chelsea, as Romano believes “it’s done”.

However, the Gunners need to address why this happened, and ensure they do not lose anymore of their best youngsters to Premier League rivals.

For example, those currently at Hale End may look at this situation and think: “If Hutchinson can’t see a future for himself here, maybe it isn’t worth me staying.”

If that is what some at Hale End are currently thinking, then an urgent meeting needs to take place.

Hopefully, no more of Hale End’s finest decide to leave, or it would really sour the mood at Arsenal.
