‘It’s difficult’: £192,000-a-week Liverpool man says there’s a ‘problem’

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told the club’s official website that not getting enough time to work in training is a problem for his side.

Klopp made the comments following Liverpool’s 1-0 win against Aston Villa at Anfield in the Premier League at the weekend.

It was the second Premier League game in a row in which the Reds had kept a clean sheet.

Liverpool got the better of Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 away from home in the league.

Klopp told Liverpool’s official website when asked about keeping consecutive clean sheets in the Premier League: “It’s difficult for us to really work on it because our problem is that we obviously play all the time.

“Yes, in the few moments when we have time, that is something we have to be completely committed as a squad to – defending. That’s our idea.

“If this squad, this team defends on the highest level we always have a chance to score a goal and if we don’t do that then we need to score two, three, four or whatever and that makes no sense because that’s not always possible.

“Yes, it’s something we’ve absolutely worked on and it’s about balance, it’s about offensively and defensively that you don’t get too exposed but it is important you are exposed because you need the spaces to create space for other players and all these kind of things.”

In our opinion, Klopp, who earns £192,000 per week as salary (Goal), is right about this point about Liverpool playing quite frequently and not having enough time to work on certain things in training.

Now, of course, Liverpool are aiming to win a number of trophies this season.

So, the Reds will have to play a lot of games.

And, let’s not forget that Liverpool do have a strong squad and world-class players in Alisson, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah among others.

However, we can understand Klopp’s point.

Players need time on the training ground to work on their game.

Managers need time to work with their team.

And since Liverpool play quite frequently, that is not always possible.
