Tottenham Hotspur striker Fernando Llorente has struggled for both form and confidence this season.

Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s superb 6-1 win over Rochdale in the FA Cup last night, and expressed his delight after scoring a quick-fire hat-trick, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The 33-year-old joined Spurs from Swansea City back in the summer fo 2017, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £12 million, but has struggled to establish himself at the club…until last night of course.
Before Tottenham’s clash with Rochdale, Llorente had managed to score just two goals in 26 appearances in all competitions for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, with many fans and pundits questioning his quality at the very highest level.

The former Swansea man’s hat-trick last night was the perfect response to his critics, though, and it will surely give him the confidence he needs to finish the season strongly.
Llorente spoke to reporters after last night’s game, and expressed his delight after scoring a ‘crazy’ hat-trick, as quoted by the club’s official website:

“I’m feeling very good. It’s important for me because always for a striker when you score goals you have more confidence. I needed to score and I’m very, very happy to help the team. It’s crazy (to score three in 12 minutes) but it’s football. Sometimes when you are working well and doing good things, this moment arrives and I’m very happy to score these goals.”
Next up for Tottenham is a home game against Huddersfield Town at the weekend, but with Harry Kane in sizzling form, Llorente will likely be on the substitutes bench once again.
His hat-trick last night will have put him at the fore-front of Pochettino’s mind, though, that’s for sure.
