Speaking on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Joe Willock has been waxing-lyrical about Allan Saint-Maximin and his ability in training.

Willock was asked to name the best player he’s ever trained with and while he’s played alongside some bona fide superstars at Arsenal, he says Saint-Maximin is up there.

Willock claims that the Frenchman often dribbles past five or six players in training and that everyone is often just left watching him in awe.

What’s been said?

Willock spoke of Saint-Maximin’s immense ability in training.

“Allan is up there you know in training. He can beat everyone, he gets that ball and he beats like five or six players and everyone is just watching him, I swear down, it’s crazy,” Willock said.

A class above

Saint-Maximin is quite clearly a class above the rest of the Newcastle squad on the pitch, and it sounds as though it’s exactly the same in the training ground.

With all due respect, it’s not hard to believe that Saint-Maximin dominates training when he’s coming up against the likes of Emil Krafth, Ciaran Clark and Jamal Lewis every day, but once Newcastle make a few new signings, he may find a it a little harder.

Saint-Maximin pulls off some audacious tricks on the pitch, so we can’t even begin to imagine what type of skills he attempts in training, especially in 5-a-side games.

The Frenchman is a mercurial talent and he will surely play a massive part as Eddie Howe attempts to keep the Magpies in the Premier League.
