Speaking to LiverpoolFC.com, Andy Robertson has said that we’re about to see the best of Neco Williams at Liverpool.
The right-back has been a regular in the starting XI lately as he’s been tasked with filling in for the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Unfortunately, Williams’ performances haven’t quite been up to the standard he’d hope, and he’s been criticised at times.
Robertson has expressed that he believes this criticism is unfair, and he believes he’s about to kick on and show the world what he can do.
“I think Neco has come in for unfair criticism but, look, unfortunately that is the nature of the beast. It’s going to happen when you do make one mistake or whatever it is.
“But Neco is a confident lad and the way he has played for Wales in the previous international breaks has been unbelievable and he shows promise and he shows glimpses of it.
“It’s just about him getting that complete performance. I believe it’s coming and I believe it’s close because he’s full of quality and he’s full of passion.”

We can only hope that Robertson is right.
Alexander-Arnold is one of the best full-backs in the world, so filling in for him was always going to be a tough ask for any player, and it’s a real shame that Williams hasn’t been at his best lately.
However, Robertson knows him better than we do and he believes he’s a quality player who is on the verge of putting in this complete performance that he talks about.
Fingers crossed that Robertson’s prediction comes true against Ajax on Tuesday evening.
