Speaking on the Premier League YouTube channel, Tariq Lamptey has been full of praise for Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe.
Lamptey was tasked with building a so-called ‘ultimate young player’ picking six key attributes from six key players to build a superstar.
Lamptey, understandably, picked himself for pace, but when it came to passing, he struggled to decide between Smith Rowe and Phil Foden.
Ultimately, Lamptey decided on Foden, but he claims that it’s very close between the pair.
What’s Lamptey said about Smith Rowe?
The Brighton ace discussed who the best young passer in the Premier League was.
“I think Phil Foden has a great range of passing. Or maybe Emile Smith Rowe as well, he has a great range of passing too. It’s close between those two, but I think Phil Foden just about edges it,” Lamptey said.
Lamptey then mentioned Smith Rowe again when speaking about the best young dribblers in the Premier League.
“This is tough, there are a lot of good dribblers. Bukayo has got good dribbling, Emile has also got good dribbling as well,”

Such a talent
The fact that Smith Rowe is being spoken about alongside Foden just goes to show how talented he is.
This time a year ago, the midfielder wasn’t even getting into the Arsenal team, and now, he’s one of the Gunners’ most important players and he’s an England international.
For years, Foden was viewed as the next great English creative prospect, but perhaps he will end up being rivalled by Smith Rowe for that role.
