Speaking on Soccer AM’s YouTube channel, Mason Holgate has claimed that Everton have a player who is almost as strong as Yerry Mina.
The defender was reviewing his teammates’ stats on FIFA 21, and he guessed correctly that Mina was rated as the strongest player at Everton on the game.
“Yeah, he’s massive he’s so strong. I don’t think there’s anyone even close to him in and around that. Like you say, he’s big strong and physical, but he’s good on the ball as well, so he’s a great defender,” Holgate said about Mina.
Despite saying there’s nobody close to Mina, it was then suggested that Michael Keane may be almost as strong as him, with Holgate asked what would happen if the pair had a wrestling match.
“Keano’s too nice. In a football environment it’s close yeah, but Keano is too nice. I couldn’t even imagine him wrestling.”
It seems as though Keane doesn’t have a career waiting for him in WWE after his footballing days are done, despite Holgate talking up how strong his teammate is.
Interestingly, the two players Holgate names as the strongest are the Toffees’ centre-half pairing, and perhaps that’s why the Merseyside outfit have been so rigid at the back this season.
Whether or not Keane is stronger than Mina is up for debate, but the fact that they’re both so powerful is certainly a great attribute for Everton.
