Leeds were linked with Manchester City’s Phil Foden in the summer.

City Watch reported in the summer that Manchester City made a decision to keep Phil Foden at the club amid interest from Leeds United in taking him on loan.
Foden is regarded as England’s brightest talent and made his debut for City a year ago.
Leeds had been reported to want Foden to play a regular role for them, while City decided he was better off staying put.
It is early days, but it is easy to see why City made that decision.
The 18-year-old played in the Community Shield, providing an assist, has come off the bench in two Premier League games, and featured last night in the Carabao Cup win over Oxford.

Foden scored in the 3-0 win, highlighting his talent once again and justifying manager Pep Guardiola’s faith.
A switch to Leeds wouldn’t necessarily have been a bad option, certainly with the way Marcelo Bielsa’s side are playing.
City sent Jack Harrison on loan to Elland Road instead, and he is developing well, scoring a vital equaliser against Millwall.
It’s just that City have more immediate plans for Foden and feel he can be fast tracked.
Already the teenager is showing why he is deemed talented enough to break into England’s best team, without needing to step down a tier.
