Alan Shearer labelled Heung-Min Son as ‘classy’ for the assist he provided during Tottenham’s 5-1 win over Newcastle United on Sunday, as he told Premier League Productions.
At half-time, Shearer would have been pretty pleased with his side at half-time because they went into the break level with Spurs, only to capitulate in the second half.
Whilst Son was the provider, for Ben Davies’s glancing header, he found the back of the net himself with a brilliant finish in the second half after Dejan Kulusevski supplied a ball from the right.
It’s quite surprising that Spurs managed to score five goals at home, yet Harry Kane didn’t even get on the scoresheet.
That perhaps sums up the performance from both teams, as Shearer praised Son.
“It’s classy from Son,” said Shearer. “Really good play. It just needs a glance, on the end of that ball, and that’s exactly what he does Davies.
“The keeper has got no chance because of the pace of the ball in there. My first viewing of it is that should be Joelinton’s ball.
“But because of the quality of the ball, the pace and the height of it, it was just perfect for someone to just get a glance. It’s because of the accuracy of the ball.”

Tottenham are flying high at the right time and seriously starting to motor in their race to finish in the top four.
That thrashing of Newcastle has put them into fourth place, ahead of Arsenal, but their north London rivals can go ahead of them if they beat Crystal Palace on Monday night.
Mikel Arteta and his players have the games in hand, as well as the momentum, but Spurs are sitting in that all-important Champions League spot after producing their best performance under Antonio Conte.
All in all, it makes these final few months of the season very interesting because a dramatic ending is on the cards.
