Albert Sambi Lokonga has paid tribute to Arsenal teammate Emile Smith Rowe.
The 21-year-old has exploded under Mikel Arteta at Arsenal this year and only looks to be getting better and better.
In September, Smith Rowe opened the scoring as the Gunners thumped Spurs in a North London derby at the Emirates Stadium.
On the pitch he is really making an impression and Arsenal fans love him even more because he’s one of their own, having come through their Hale End academy.
And off it, the England Under-21 international is impressing people too – including Lokonga.
The Belgium midfielder, who joined the club this past summer, has admitted that Smith Rowe also does the business behind the scenes in training, claiming that ‘it’s class’ to watch how silky he is.
He told a Q&A via Arsenal’s YouTube channel: “Emile. He controls everything. He controls passes and turns his opponent. Everything. I like the way [he does it]. It’s class! I like Emz.”
Smith Rowe also opened the scoring for the Young Lions in midweek, casually slotting beyond the goalkeeper in a 1-0 win over Andorra.
His manager, Lee Carsley, claimed that he has the poise and finishing ability of a centre forward.
And that’s what the youngster needs to continue doing, improving on himself in front of goal.
Smith Rowe has so many strings to his bow and if he adds goals, we’re talking about a huge player for Arsenal over the coming years.
