Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has shared what he knows about Richarlison’s fitness, and sadly, it’s not good news.

The Brazilian striker tweaked his hamstring before the World Cup quarter-final against Croatia, but despite carrying an injury, he played the majority of the tie against the European outfit.

Sadly, it seems as though braving it at the World Cup didn’t do the striker any favours as he now faces six weeks on the sidelines for Tottenham Hotspur.

Richarlison is out

Gold shared what he knows about the Spurs attacker.

“Let’s start with the most recent stuff. It’s bad news on the Richarlison front. He has had his scan on that hamstring injury and it looks like it will be five to six weeks. That will mean from the date of the injury itself, so he will be back in mid-January at best unless he recovers quickly. He picked up an issue in the warm-up against Croatia and, I don’t know why, but he played for 84 minutes after that problem in the warm-up,” Gold said.

Worst timing

This really couldn’t have come at a worse time for Richarlison.

The attacker had been out of action for a number of weeks before the World Cup, but after a string of impressive showings in Qatar, it looked like he had some momentum to take into the second half of the season.

Sadly ,that momentum has been halted and it may be very difficult for Richarlison to kick on after the World Cup as his development and momentum is now paused.

Fingers crossed Richarlison will be able to hit the ground running upon his return, but that may be a tough task.
