Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld has told Football London that he is completely fit to play tonight against Antwerp, after damaging his eye on Monday evening.

Alderweireld clashed with Ashley Barnes and had to wear a strapping over his eye to get through the game at Turf Moor.

But Alderweireld insists that, despite some bruising, he is absolutely fine to feature for Tottenham this evening.

“It’s good,” the Belgian said. “I was a little bit lucky as well but it doesn’t bother me at all. It’s all good”

Alderweireld’s availability is a boost to Spurs, although it is not totally certain he will start.

Jose Mourinho has been keen to rotate in the Europa League and he has plenty of other options at centre-back.

Eric Dier may not have travelled, but Davinson Sanchez is almost certain to feature and Ben Davies could also be used at centre-back, after impressing in the position in Tottenham’s opening European match.

Spurs head into tonight’s game as favourites and if they can pick up the three points they will be in a commanding position in their group.
