Shaka Hislop says he is ‘surprised’ to see Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker linked with a potential transfer to Saudi Arabia.
The 30-year-old is one of Jurgen Klopp’s most important players and has been their best player during their recent 12 months of decline.
But given that the ever-growing Saudi Pro League are knocking on their door again, Hislop thinks that Liverpool shouldn’t worry about anything because Alisson Becker has ‘four years left to run on his contract’, as he told ESPN.
Of course, that means jack all because money talks in this game and you don’t know how players are going to act, with suggestions that he would be open to a move.
What’s worse for the Reds is that he isn’t the only current Liverpool player linked with a transfer to the Middle East because Mohammed Salah’s name has also entered the picture.
Another issue is that the Saudis can buy players after the summer transfer window is slammed shut in England, with former Premier League shot-stopper Hislop sharing his thoughts.

“If the English clubs decide not to sell, then you don’t, it’s as simple as that,” said Hislop.
“Alisson, it’s a surprise to see him linked and given the money that the Saudis have been splashing, then I am sure his interest has peaked. But he has four years left on his Liverpool contract
“So, if Liverpool decides, we aren’t selling you August 28. We aren’t selling you September 10, then we aren’t selling you September 10, 2025, that’s within their rights.
“Of course, Alisson can have something to say about that. Kick up a stink, but he still has a pretty lengthy contract still to see out.”

Liverpool have sold before…
There is no doubt that if money is put on the table for the likes of Alisson and Salah, then the powers that be at Anfield will bat it away again and again.
But they have put themselves in a pickle and that’s previously accepting Saudi money.
The departures of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho weren’t planned this summer, but given that Liverpool accepted offers for them, then those same people will come knocking, given that they will have the English side’s number on speed dial, and will want to do business again.
