Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has been discussing Spurs’ travelling squad for their pre-season tour of South Korea.

The north London outfit are set to jet off to south-east Asia this weekend, and Tottenham will likely use this as an opportunity to utilise some of their young talents.

The likes of Jamie Donley, Harvey White and Troy Parrott will probably all get chances in Korea, but according to Gold, there are two youngsters who may now not be travelling.

Indeed, Gold says that Dane Scarlett and Alfie Devine may miss the pre-season tour as the club want to give them some rest after playing the U19 Euros with England.

What’s been said?

Gold spoke about Scarlett and Devine.

“Dane Scarlett and Alfie Devine. I was initially told that they were going to go on the pre-season tour to Korea, but now I’m told that there’s a possibility that they may not go purely to give them a bit of rest as they’ve been playing the U19 Euros with England,” Gold said.

“It’s a shame in a way because I would like to see them in Korea, and they may well say ‘no, we want to play’, but it will be interesting to see what happens there as there could be chances for others like Troy Parrott or Kion Etete.”

Chances will come

It is unfortunate that Scarlett and Devine may not be going to Korea, but, to be honest, they shouldn’t worry too much.

For some young players, the pre-season tour is the only chance they’ll have all season to make any sort of impression, but these two should get plenty of other opportunities.

Indeed, Scarlett and Devine have been earmarked as two of Tottenham’s brightest young talents for some time now, so they should get chances in the early rounds of the cups, other friendlies and even in some Premier League games.

Devine and Scarlett shouldn’t worry too much and enjoy their rest.
