Arsenal forward, Bukayo Saka, told his post-match press conference that ‘it’s a shame’ that Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold suffered an injury yesterday.
The Arsenal teenager scored for England on Wednesday as they beat Austria 1-0 in an international friendly, with both Saka and Liverpool’s academy product putting in strong performances on the night.
But just towards the end of the game, as Alexander-Arnold kicked the ball away, he seemingly felt something in his thigh or hamstring and had to go off.
In the build-up to this match, all the talk was about whether the Liverpool right-back would make Gareth Southgate’s 26-man squad for Euro 2020 – well, he did!
And Saka stated that TAA has ‘worked hard’ to get into the final squad and he deserved to be in his current position, as Liverpool fans will love his classy response to his international teammates’ injury.
“It’s really devastating,” said Saka. “I think he’s worked hard to earn his spot here and he deserves it. He had a really good game tonight.
“It’s a shame that it ended that way and I am just hoping that it’s not too serious. But we have to wait and see.”

Many thought if Trent wasn’t heading to the Euros this summer then it was going to be down to the fact of Southgate leaving him out.
But judging by Trent’s reaction last night, he might have suffered the curse of another Liverpool defender getting injured this term.
Even with the 2020/21 Premier League season at an end, Liverpool players still cannot avoid entering the treatment room.
Many on Merseyside will be looking forward to the new campaign because this season has been injury-savaged for those in red.
