Everton fitness coach Jan Kluitenberg has taken to Twitter after the Toffees beat Leicester City 4-2 in an enthralling encounter at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.
Ronald Koeman’s men went into the game having suffered disappointment away at Liverpool and Manchester United, picking up just the one point from those two fixtures.
A response was needed as Everton hosted Leicester at Goodison Park, and they made a strong start as Tom Davies put the Toffees in front with a goal after just 28 seconds.
Leicester – who had won each of their previous five games – hit back as Islam Slimani and Marc Albrighton both found the net, but Everton did run out winners with a Phil Jagielka goal and a brace from Romelu Lukaku.
The result means Everton sit seventh in the Premier League table, seven points off a Champions League place but just three points behind fifth-placed Manchester United.
Koeman’s side are enjoying a strong 2017 so far, and the emergence of young players such as Mason Holgate, Matthew Pennington, Tom Davies, Ademola Lookman and Dominic Calvert-Lewin make Everton one of the Premier League’s most exciting teams.
