Speaking on the MLS YouTube channel, Matt Turner has been discussing his impending move to Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

New England Revolution agreed a deal to sell Turner to Arsenal in February, but the move will not become official until this summer.

The delayed switch has given the goalkeeper plenty of time to prepare for life in England, and he says that he should be able to settle in pretty well due to the fact he already has some family living in London.

However, while his cousin may already be in the UK, Turner says that he will miss some of the American food.

What’s been said?

Turner spoke about moving to the UK.

“I’m a pretty bland eater regardless, so it won’t be a problem, I will miss good pizza and I will miss chipotle. I will miss a good bagel as well, I will miss the small things,” Turner said.

“I’ve heard there are loads of amazing restaurants, and my cousin actually lives in London, so I’m going into a situation where it’s a new country, but we have a big support system over there, I have to use ‘we’ more than ‘I’ now because we have a little family going on now, it’s kind of crazy.”

Easy transition

In terms of transitioning from one country to another, moving from America to England is one of the easiest transitions you could ask for as a footballer.

The climates are similar, the language is the same and while the food is slightly different, almost everything is available in London.

Turner really shouldn’t have a hard time adjusting to life in London, but whether or not he can adjust to the rigours of playing Premier League football remains to be seen.
