‘It’s a cheap shot’: Simon Jordan hits out at Trevor Sinclair & PL boss after Liverpool claim

Simon Jordan hit out at Trevor Sinclair and Fulham boss Scott Parker for their ‘cheap shot’ at Liverpool, as he told White & Jordan on talkSPORT.

Aston Villa, whose kids were knocked out by Liverpool in the FA Cup on Friday, were scheduled to play Tottenham in the Premier League tonight, but that fixture was postponed because of a COVID outbreak in Villa’s camp.

As a result, Fulham’s previously postponed game against Spurs was then rescheduled for tonight and the newly-promoted side were only told about it on Monday morning, rather than on Thursday when everyone was made aware of Villa’s situation.

Parker came out and claimed that if a club like Liverpool were in their position then they wouldn’t have been given 48 hours notice, as he told the Guardian.

These words were echoed by former Manchester City winger, Sinclair, but ex-Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan wasn’t having any of it.

“What he [Parker] really means is that there is no consistency,” said Sinclair. “Why did the Premier League leave it until 48 hours before telling Fulham that they are playing Spurs?

“I think that wouldn’t have happened with a big club. If you are saying if that would have happened with a Liverpool, Manchester City or Manchester United then you are kidding yourself.”

Simon Jordan then asked Sinclair to provide evidence to suggest that this Fulham situation wouldn’t happen to a Liverpool.

“You are advancing it as a fact [it wouldn’t happen to a Liverpool],” said Jordan. “You are advancing it as a notion and so is Scott Parker – there is no example.

“Then it’s a cheap shot, isn’t it?!”

Sinclair responded and said: “It’s not a cheap shot because I have backed it up with other things.”

It wouldn’t be a surprise if more Premier League clubs are unhappy with how things are handled from now until the end of the season.

More and more outbreaks are happening at Premier League clubs, which is also resulting in more postponements.

Either way, Fulham have to focus their attention on Spurs, who can close the gap on second-placed Liverpool to one point with a win.
