Premier League rivals Spurs and West Ham reportedly want to sign Serie A midfielder Franck Kessie from AC Milan.
Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United could be in luck if they want to bring Franck Kessie to London next summer.
Tuttomercatoweb reported in February that Spurs had contacted the agent of the AC Milan powerhouse ahead of a potential move to the capital. This came shortly after West Ham signalled their intention to pay £31 million, according to TMW.
But would Milan really be willing to cash in on one of the most promising midfielders in European football? Well, maybe.
According to Tuttosport on Friday morning, the Rossoneri are ‘dreaming’ of signing Fiorentina’s speedy Italy international Federico Chiesa at the end of the season. But La Viola want at least £70 million for their prized asset – meaning Milan will have to sell to finance a bid.
The report adds that the five-time European Cup winners could therefore be willing to let Kessie go if someone meets their £35 million valuation. Spanish winger Suso and Portuguese striker Andre Silva, who is struggling on loan at Sevilla, are also at risk of the axe.
If he moves to Tottenham, Kessie could fill the void left by Mousa Dembele while he would add dynamism, energy and superb technical quality to West Ham’s rather weak midfield.
