Are West Ham United about to take a young starlet on trial?

The president of Italian side Pordenone has confirmed that a reported West Ham United target is travelling to England to undergo a trial with a Premier League club.
Marco Meneghetti, the 17-year-old goalkeeper, seems to be a rising star in Italian football after dazzling for a third-tier club.
Back in March, Pordenone president Mauro Lovisa confirmed that West Ham had shown an interest in the young stopper.
And now Lovisa claims that the starlet is headed to ‘major English club’ for a trial.
“Meneghetti will go to England to undergo trial at a major English club. He’s been with us for many years that’s because we believe in him a lot,” he told Rai Sport. “He is not only a strong boy, but has a good head on his shoulders.”
Time will tell whether West Ham are the interested club in question but, given Lovisa’s previous comments, it looks probable.
If it is the Hammers, it’ll be a while before he is ready for first-team football – that is, if he even passes the trial.
Lukasz Fabianski has impressed for the Irons this season but, at 33, West Ham will surely have one eye on replacing the Polish keeper – who only joined last summer – in the long term.
West Ham sit 13th in the Premier League table, winning only 12 points from a possible 36 so far this season.
