Tottenham Hotspur have a lot of work to do in the transfer window.
Even if they keep Harry Kane, which is a big if, Spurs’ squad is still nowhere near good enough after finishing seventh in the Premier League table last season.
The North Londoners haven’t won anything since 2008 and the fact that Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho have both been sacked within the last two years illustrates the demands for success.
Yep, a lot of work to do, but at least Daniel Levy has hired a ‘machine’ in the form of Fabio Paratici.
The Italian was appointed as Tottenham’s new managing director earlier this month after a hugely-successful spell at Juventus, winning 19 trophies.
Here’s what Gianluca Di Marzio told Sky Sports News on Friday: “He works 24 hours a day. He doesn’t sleep. He is a machine. Everyday with the phone.”
Exciting
Di Marzio clearly doesn’t mean that he is literally an insomniac, but evidently Paratici has a solid work ehtic and a major appetite success.
And Tottenham fans will absolutely love the man if he genuiely boasts two of those qualities.
After all, the supporters crave silverware as much as anybody affiliated with the Lilywhites and although there’s no guarantees that he’ll be successful, almost 20 trophies at Juve illustrate that he has a taste for it and that’s exactly what is needed at the club.
