Craig Burley says Arsenal transfer target Dusan Vlahovic won’t join Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea this summer from Juventus.

Chelsea have a number of attacking options to pick from, but none of them are bonafide number 9’s, hence the clubs need to bring someone in.

With Dusan Vlahovic’s name doing the rounds, Burley stated ‘it won’t happen’, as he told ESPN.

But another London club, Arsenal, are also in the race for the 23-year-old, with reports that they held talks with the player’s agent.

The Gunners have been here before with Vlahovic, prior to Gabriel Jesus moving to the Emirates.

It’s pretty clear that they are spending big this summer, so will they push the boat out for Juve hitman? Either way, former Chelsea man Burley can’t see him rocking up at Stamford Bridge.

“Vlahovic, I like him as a player,” said Burley. “Big, physical, strong, good pace and a good goalscorer. It was a struggle last year, but it depends on the fee.

“I have a feeling this one won’t happen. With Chelsea, you never know.”

Vlahovic suits the Premier League

When the Serbian star was at Fiorentina, there was a lot of hype around his name, as he was smashing in the goals for fun.

He has had a mixed time of it at Turin, although, the off-field problems with Juve haven’t helped anyone’s cause.

A player like Vlahovic is suited to the Premier League because he is horrible to play against, the physical presence he has in the final third and how he is aggressive without the ball.
