William Gallas has stated on Instagram that Tottenham’s win on Saturday ‘confirms’ that the Premier League title will be heading to London, but it ‘won’t be Arsenal’.
The former centre-back is in a unique situation in the sense that he has played for all three of London’s biggest clubs – After five years at Stamford Bridge, he then joined the red side of North London before making the switch to Spurs.
Jose Mourinho’s side currently top the Premier League table and the Portuguese coach will face his student in Frank Lampard at the weekend.
Gallas thinks both Spurs and Chelsea are in the title race but he was clear that it won’t be heading to Arsenal, as he also commented on the upcoming weekend encounter.
There was hope and backing for Chelsea at the start of the season because they splashed the cash in the summer and brought in some big-name stars.
But, from the outside, many were questioning whether Mourinho still had fuel left in his tank and Spurs weren’t even being backed for a top-four finish.
However, as the Premier League table states, Spurs are sitting at the start of the grid and will be hoping to set the pace from the front as they enter a tricky period.
They know the challenge will come from Liverpool and Chelsea, whilst Manchester City, who are in the middle of the pack, will always have the ability to power through at any moment.
