Troy Deeney has told talkSPORT that he finds it ‘very difficult’ to bet against Liverpool winning the Premier League title again this season.

The Watford striker stated that during Liverpool’s win against Wolves, they didn’t show anything which suggests that they are ‘getting any worse’.

Even with Liverpool’s injury problems, defensive issues in terms of conceding goals, they still find themselves sitting second in the table and being level on points with leaders Spurs.

That’s perhaps a big reason as to why Deeney is adamant that Liverpool will be the team once again at the end of the season.

“I am still sticking with Liverpool,” said Deeney. “They showed nothing [against Wolves] that they are getting any worse.

“They have got lads coming back. Young boys that have come in and done really well. Then they have got goals all over the pitch.

“So, it will be very difficult to bet against them.”

Liverpool’s trophies under Jurgen Klopp

  1. Champions League

    2018/19

  2. UEFA Super Cup

    2019

  3. FIFA Club World Cup

    2019

  4. Premier League

    2019/20

A number of Liverpool’s youngsters have benefited from injury problems to the likes of Vigil van Dijk, Alisson, Thiago, Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander Arnold.

During Liverpool’s Champions League win against Ajax last time out, both of their academy players – Neco Williams and Curtis Jones – combined to score the only goal of the game.

Whilst many felt that dipping into the transfer market was the answer to their injury crisis, it seems as though the youngsters have been answering the call instead.
