Alan Shearer told Premier League Productions (27/02/21 at 5:20 pm) that he can ‘understand’ why ‘so many people’ are talking about Leeds United winger Raphinha.
The Premier League’s all-time goal-getter thinks it would be ‘disrespectful’ to just talk about the hard work Raphinha puts in for Leeds.
There’s no doubt that Raphinha has been one of the standout performers in the Premier League this season and one of the signings of the summer.
Shearer likes what he sees from the 24-year-old, who has the ability to put many a player on their backside or whack the ball into the back of the net from a dead-ball situation.
“He can also put a shift in. But it will be disrespectful to say that’s all it is. There is so much more.
“There is the ability to go at players and to go past players. To score and to create.
“You can understand why there are so many people talking about him and talking about his ability because he’s doing this most weeks now.”
Raphinha’s performances have seemingly attracted the attention of some other clubs, which should be taken as a positive from those in Yorkshire.
In the long-run, Leeds’ aim is to get back into Europe and stay there.
Selling their star players isn’t exactly the answer to that, but one thing is for sure, Leeds have a player who will put fear into the eyes of many opposition players in the Premier League.
