Tottenham Hotspur beat Real Madrid 3-1 on Wednesday night.

Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has been quoted by Football Espana as saying that he didn’t think the heavy nature of Tottenham’s win over was fair.
Just two weeks after Tottenham picked up a valiant 1-1 draw against Real at the Bernabeu, the Spanish giants travelled to London for the reverse fixture on Wednesday night.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men were even better than in their first meeting, and took a first half lead when Dele Alli slid the ball home from close range from Kieran Trippier’s cross.

Alli made it 2-0 in the second half with a deflected strike, before fellow midfielder Christian Eriksen waltzed through to make it 3-0 with a calm finish when one-one-one in front of goal.
Cristiano Ronaldo did pull a goal back for Real, but Spurs deserved their superb victory, and manager Pochettino will be taking a raft of plaudits for his side’s performance.
Tottenham have now made it through to the knockout stages with two games to spare, having claimed 10 points from just four games – but for Real, it’s another frustrating result having lost 2-1 at Girona on Sunday.
After the final whistle, Ronaldo spoke to the press, and was quoted by Football Espana as saying that this is a bad time for Real, before making some bizarre comments.

Ronaldo believes that being 3-0 down was not a good reflection of what happened on the pitch, suggesting that Spurs were somewhat lucky given that their first goal ‘was offside’ – and whislt Real had more possession, more shots and more shots on target, few would begrudge Tottenham’s win after a clinical display.
“It’s a bad time for us because we’re losing and we’re used to winning,” said Ronald. “It’s a bad patch for us, but we want to change it and I’m sure we will. This is the beginning, we still have a lot of time to improve and I’m convinced that we will. There’s been no harm done, but bad runs aren’t good and we have to change things. We have to admit that we aren’t as we’d like to be. I don’t see things to be so bad, but we have to be confident.”
“Criticism? When you don’t win, people try to look for things, but I’m here talking, showing my face for my teammates, and I’m confident that things will change. Irritated on the pitch? It’s normal. When you’re losing, things don’t go the way you want them to and you want to help your teammates, It was a very big blow to go 3-0 down, although for me it wasn’t a good reflection of what happened on the pitch. Their first goal was offside, just like the other day. Our attitude is to run and fight, like it was at Girona.” he added.
