Mauricio Pochettino has raved about the ‘unbelievable’ atmosphere at Tottenham’s old stadium White Hart Lane, as he told UEFA’s Instagram story.
The PSG boss also shared that two standout memories in his career are helping his boyhood club, Espanyol, avoid relegation and reaching the Champions League final with Spurs.
When Tottenham were preparing for that Madrid final against Liverpool, not many expected Pochettino to be collecting his P45 many months later.
But he is now working his magic in Paris, where he helped PSG record a stunning 4-1 win at Barcelona in the Champions League a fortnight ago.
Nonetheless, in a Q/A session on UEFA’s Instagram story, Pochettino was asked about his best memories and the best atmospheres he has worked under, as Tottenham fans will love both responses.
“Plenty, plenty of good memories,” said Pochettino. “When we avoided relegation with Espanyol.
“When we qualify for the final of the Champions League. Those are the two most important in my career.
“I think Parc de Princes and then White Hart Lane in the first Champions League game against Manchester City. It was unbelievable.”

It will be pretty interesting to see how this Pochettino and PSG story works out compared to his Tottenham days.
PSG have dominated in France for many years, so Pochettino will be expected to continue adding trophies to the cabinet in that regard.
But with the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar at his disposal, the Champions League is also something PSG crave very much and it’s Pochettino’s biggest test as to whether he can secure that trophy for the first time for the Ligue 1 club.
