Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has thanked his side’s supporters after they turned out in force to watch their game against Leeds United last night in comments to the club’s official website.
Turning out in force
Arsenal ran out 2-0 winners over Leeds in the League Cup and they were backed by a capacity crowd to do so.
The Emirates Stadium was rocking at points last night, in a cup where teams typically don’t always get the biggest followings.
But Arteta was so happy to see so many Gunners supporters in attendance and cheering his side on.
“It was incredible to see again,” he said. “A full stadium on a Tuesday night. Thank you so much for supporting the team.
“It makes a huge difference to have them on board and let’s continue.”
Happy fans

Those Arsenal fans who made the effort to watch would surely have been delighted with what they witnessed.
Arteta’s men did look vulnerable on the breakaway in the first-half, but they held firm and ultimately picked up the victory.
Arsenal scored their first through Calum Chambers’ header from a corner, before Eddie Nketiah wrapped up the triumph after capitalising on a defensive error.
The Gunners are now into the last eight of the competition and will find out who they play in the next round when the draw is made later this evening.
