Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford has revealed that he was sick on the pitch against Liverpool, on the Leeds United podcast.

Bamford had to work extremely hard on Monday evening, as Leeds battled back to claim a point at Elland Road.

The Whites pushed a number of men forward as they chased an equaliser, which meant that Bamford had to do his fair share of defensive work too.

And at one stage Bamford admits that fatigue crept up on him in a rather grim way.

“I was actually sick in my mouth yesterday when I was on the pitch! I was blowing,” he laughed.

“I think it was just after I hit the bar. They broke on a counter attack and I’ve sprinted back from their penalty box to ours and then nothing came of it and Illan got the ball and we started attacking again.

“I’ve ran all the way back up the pitch and we have just kept the ball at the back, passing it round and I thought I was about to burp.

“I just burped and I was just sick in my mouth so I had to spit it out, it was on the pitch but it was just a little bit!

“So the rest of the game I’ve just got this taste of sick in my mouth, it was horrible.

“After I’d just done that run Marcelo was shouting ‘Patrick move!’.”

Leeds had fallen behind against Liverpool early on when Sadio Mane hit the back of the net.

However, Bamford and his Leeds teammates’ efforts were rewarded late on when Diego Llorente nodded home.

It means that Leeds have now gone unbeaten against Manchester City and Liverpool in their last two games.

Leeds will now hope to extend their impressive run of results, as they take on second-placed Manchester United on Sunday.
