Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford has admitted to Monday Night Football on Sky Sports that Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson shocked him last night.
Bamford was played in during the first half of Leeds’ 1-1 draw with Liverpool yesterday, but he was thwarted by the onrushing Alisson.
The Brazilian is always quick off his line, and the speed of which the Liverpool stopper came out really did take Bamford by surprise.
“I took a touch and thought I had time to pick a spot, but next time I looked up the keeper was out! It was good keeping, but I should have scored,” he said.
That moment may have been in Bamford’s head when he had another presentable opportunity late on.

Bamford got his shot away quickly this time as he aimed to lob the Liverpool goalkeeper, but his effort hit the bar and rebounded to safety.
Alisson was eventually beaten by a Leeds player though, when Diego Llorente headed home from a corner late on to ensure that both sides claimed a point.
Liverpool currently sit in sixth place in Premier League table after last night’s draw, while Leeds occupy 10th spot.
