Aston Villa fans have reacted on Twitter to rumours that, Emile Smith Rowe, is set to sign a new contract.
Birmingham Live claim that Villa have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of the Arsenal playmaker, who is set to sign a new five-year deal.
Perhaps one of the surprising transfer rumours of the summer, Villa seemingly had two bids turned down for the Hale-End academy product.
And whilst there would have been some worry for those at Arsenal that Villa could land one of their talents, it seems as though he will now sign on the dotted line to end all talk.
Villa fans have provided a mixed reaction to the news, with some not surprised that he will stay in North London following their interest.
Smith Rowe is a boyhood Arsenal fan and the quick-thinking creator is living his dream in North London.
Amid all of Arsenal’s troubles last season, he broke through, and alongside the likes of Bukayo Saka, he was one of a very few who were shining lights under Mikel Arteta.
So, this will be music to the ears of the Arsenal fans because it would have been one hammer blow if the Englishman did indeed leave.
Of course, nothing is confirmed yet in regards to Smith Rowe, but it seems as though he will be staying put.
