Back in 2021, Portuguese news outlet Record revealed that Liverpool had made an attempt to bring FC Porto maestro Fabio Vieira to Anfield.
Eventually, a move to the Premier League failed to materialise for the 21-year-old, and he stayed at the Estádio do Dragão.
Now, the Portugal Under-21 international’s cousin – Mara Vieira – has been speaking to Antena 1 about the Liverpool target’s future.
What’s the story?
Well, it seems that the youngster is happy to stay at FC Porto.
Speaking to Antena 1, Mara Vieira said: “If Klopp has already touched on Fabio’s name, as he has done with others, it’s because at Liverpool they are attentive to the younger ones.
“From there, it’s a matter of waiting, but it seems to me that he’s doing well at FC Porto, which is also a high-level club. There is no great anxiety to change, unless a great opportunity arises.”
Clearly, it sounds as if the FC Porto No.50 is content with life in Portugal, but he would be open to leaving for an exciting opportunity.

If anything, that is a boost for Liverpool, as the chance to play on Merseyside under Jürgen Klopp is definitely attractive.
The Reds are always competing for silverware nowadays, and young players like Vieira are given chances to shine under Klopp.
Liverpool should sign Fabio Vieira
In our view, the Reds should sign Vieira if they are unable to land one of their main targets, Borussia Dortmund gem Jude Bellingham.
The Portuguese wonderkid has scored seven goals in 33 games this season, while also providing 13 assists.

20 goal involvements in 33 outings is a fantastic return, and with a coach like Klopp guiding him, the sky would be the limit for Vieira at Anfield.
Also, with fellow Portuguese star Diogo Jota already at Anfield, there is the chance of a wonderful partnership blossoming between the pair.
Keep an eye on this saga, as anything could happen this summer.
