Rangers striker Kemar Roofe has said that the gap between the Gers and Celtic now “means nothing”, as quoted on BBC Sport.
Steven Gerrard’s side are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 41 points from 15 matches.
Defending champions Celtic currently find themselves second in the standings with 30 points from 13 games.
While Neil Lennon’s side had to come from two goals down to play out a 2-2 draw with Hibernian away from home in the league at the weekend, Rangers hammered Aberdeen 4-0 at Ibrox, with their performance being praised by Dons manager Derek McInnes.
Roofe – who cost the Gers £4 million in transfer fee when they signed him from Anderlecht in the summer of 2020, as reported by The Daily Mail – has said that the point-gap between Rangers and Celtic do not count for anything at the moment.
BBC Sport quotes Roofe as saying when asked about the 11-point gap: “It means nothing until the end of the season. We keep pushing each other.”
Intense title race
It is only November, and given how strong Celtic are and the quality of players Lennon has, it is clear that that they are not going to give up.
The title race in the Scottish top flight this season will go down to the wire, and Scottish Premiership fans are in for a treat.
