Tottenham Hotspur are back in action on Thursday evening, as they travel to take on Belgian side Royal Antwerp in the Europa League.

Spurs beat Burnley 1-0 in the Premier League on Monday night thanks to Son Heung-min’s winner, but it’s back to European action tomorrow night.

Jose Mourinho’s men beat LASK 3-0 in the Europa League last week, and will now be seeing to build on that with another victory on Thursday.

Team rotation will be in Mourinho’s mind, and this may be a chance to give Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg something of a rest.

The 25-year-old has played every minute of Premier League action this season, quickly becoming one of Mourinho’s favourite players at Tottenham.

Mourinho even praised Hojbjerg as a ‘good leader’ last week, and its clear that the Dane is the key man in the Spurs midfield as things stand.

Hojbjerg played almost 180 minutes in the space of four days over the international break, and has since come back and started three games in a row at Tottenham.

He only played an hour against LASK, but having then played 90 minutes at Burnley, Spurs should be wary of overloading the former Southampton star.

Mourinho won’t want to risk his key midfielder picking up an injury, as Harry Winks can’t quite do the same job, so a substitute role tomorrow night would make some sense.

Giving Winks a start whilst allowing Hojbjerg to rest up ahead of Sunday night’s game against Brighton and Hove Albion should be something Mourinho strongly considers, having recently given rests to the likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.
