Stevie Nicol says ‘it isn’t even close’ for Declan Rice when he has to pick between signing for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City or Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
The Liverpool legend made it clear that Declan Rice has to go to Manchester City, after it was claimed by David Ornstien on Monday evening on Twitter that the Treble-winning side have put in a ‘formal bid’ for the player.
Arsenal already have had ‘two bids rejected’ and they are expected to go in again, but regardless of what they offer, Nicol thinks ‘unless Rice is an Arsenal fan’, then there is only one option, as he told ESPN.
You have to be brave to turn down a team that isn’t just the best in England, but also the best in Europe.
Not only that, opting against working with Pep Guardiola, who as the years tick by, is going down as perhaps the greatest ever coach of all time, would be a very, very brave call from the 24-year-old.
That’s why Nicol thinks Rice has no choice but to head to the Etihad, as he shared what might result in him joining Arsenal, if he decided to go down that road.

“Manchester City,” responded Nicol on who Rice should pick. “Absolutely. 100%. I don’t even think it’s actually close.
“Unless Declan Rice has been an Arsenal fan, he has his blinkers on and he wants to be in London. All of that periphery stuff, if that is more important to him, then he goes to Arsenal.
“But, for football terms, get yourself in a car, on a plane, on a train, on a bus or whatever it takes to get yourself down to Manchester City.”

Crazy Man City quality…
Let’s be honest, Man City don’t need to buy anybody this summer and they will still probably, not only win the Premier League title but the Champions League again.
Their talent levels are already crazy and the depth they have is also out of this world.
For example, someone like Aymeric Laporte hardly featured during their Treble-winning season, yet he probably starts for every other Premier League team.
